Testemunha da nossa História, da nossa herança cultural e social…
Entre o bonito, o feio e o mais ou menos…
Bipolarizando a saudade, a euforia, a apatia e o queixume…
Some words for our visitors:
Hello Stranger!
We have got for you the SOUVENIR STORE
where every item is an original
So we decided to try to describe for you some of the features of the Portuguese People, that we are:
Our elder ascents we the Celts, the Goths, the Iberians. The Phoenicians visited regularly.
We were briefly colonized by the Romans, from which our language derives. The Arabs lived in the area for a long, long time; as did the Jews that fond a haven here during WW II.
On the other hand Portugal is one of the oldest countries in Europe its foundation dates back to the XII century.
Nowadays we are a laic country, though the majority of the population will tell you that they are Catholics. There is a most revered local Madonna dating from the 1920’s: Nossa Senhora de Fátima (and that’s the name of the place: Fátima), a vision that three young children had; she told them a secret that they had to keep, some to the grave, but the survivor finally gave it up to the Pope! It was released to the public in the mid 90’s that communism was doomed to end.
We are also the P for what the Europeans have designated the Pigs. Nevertheless we are not very aware of it, we just feel it in our bodies and in our souls.
There will be no citizen that will say that our cuisine is not the healthiest in the world. Portuguese never stop talking, so we will finish now.
We will be waiting for you at Bairro Alto, in Rua da Atalaia at number 31.
Located in a corner, not far away from the main street Calhariz (tram 28) or Praça de Camões.
